The Opera for Beginners group will be for opera lovers who would like to learn more about the basics of opera, for better understanding and enhancement of their enjoyment.
The course is at foundation level and will focus on the following:

• The components that make opera an art form
• The origins of opera at the time of the Renaissance - how opera was viewed and used before it became an independent art form
• The first operas
• An opera timeline
• Glossary of the most common operatic terms
• A look at the most popular operas
